A Fresh Voice in the World of Voice Over Acting
Hello, I’m Connor Chmel (pronounced Kuh-Mel, in case you’re wondering)! I graduated with a degree in event management in 2018, and while working in that industry I realized my passion was pulling me toward voice over acting.
Growing up as a proud nerd, I have always been a huge lover of video games, comic books and animated series. I’ve been inspired by these characters my whole life and it’s my dream to provide the voice behind a character that someone can connect to the way I have.
One person can create a whole new person or even an entire world.
That’s truly inspiring to me. Over the years, I discovered just how much voice over has had an effect on me. From video game characters like Bioshock Infinite's Elizabeth, Spider-Man PS4's Peter Parker, and The Last of Us' Joel and Ellie, to animated TV characters like Mark Hamill's Joker or Firelord Ozai, voice-over has always been there even if I wasn't consciously observing the voice over itself.
Experience and Training
I completed an academic and training program with Such A Voice under the guidance of professional voice over artist Tim Powers. This program taught me all about techniques of voice over. During training, I practiced real scenarios, solidified my skills and persona, and learned more about how to be natural in different situations for any job.
